Tempo FAQ

Answers to common questions about Tempo, including personalization, privacy, cycle-aware training, and how recommendations are generated.

How does Tempo personalize workouts?
Tempo personalizes recommendations using a rules-based training algorithm that combines your cycle context and daily readiness check-ins (like energy, sleep, mood, and recovery). Tempo currently does not use a generative AI coach to create workouts. Instead, it uses structured training logic designed for consistency and recovery-aware progression.
Does Tempo use AI?
Tempo does not currently use a generative AI assistant to coach or chat. Today, recommendations are produced by a cycle-aware algorithm and product rules. If AI features are added in the future, we will clearly disclose what changed and how data is used.
What data does Tempo use to tailor recommendations?
Tempo may use check-in inputs (energy, sleep, mood, recovery), cycle data you track, and connected health signals (when available, such as Apple Health integrations you authorize). The goal is to adapt workout intensity and type to your current readiness.
Is my data private?
Tempo is designed with privacy in mind. We do not sell personal data to third parties. You can review what data is collected and how it is used in our Privacy Policy.
Is Tempo medical advice?
No. Tempo provides fitness and wellness guidance for informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For medical concerns, consult a licensed healthcare professional.
Can I use Tempo with irregular cycles?
Yes. Tempo can still be useful with irregular cycles because daily readiness check-ins help guide decisions even when phase timing shifts month to month.
Can I use Tempo if I'm on hormonal birth control?
Yes. Some users on hormonal birth control still track patterns in energy, mood, and recovery. Tempo's daily check-in approach can still help tailor day-to-day training decisions.
Do I need to be advanced to use Tempo?
No. Tempo is designed for beginners through experienced lifters. The recommendation system emphasizes sustainable consistency, not all-out intensity every day.
